Costa Rica Fishing
- East Coast and West Coast
EAST COAST - Costa Rica is blessed with
extensive coastlines on two oceans. The east (Carribbean) coast,
in addition to its superb tarpon fishing, also offers world-class (and
multiple world record) snook, sailfish, kings, tuna, snapper, wahoo, jacks
and more. Head inshore, into the complex river systems, and
Guapote, spunky cichlids related to peacock
bass, viciously ambush well-placed baits in the region's structure laden
rivers.
|
you''ll encouter aggressive guapote, machaca
and mojarra. There is something for everyone here, making this a
trip loaded with experiences that every fisherman and every member of the
family will enjoy. Rio Parismina Lodge offers great fishing, great
food, great accommodations and a beautiful, pristine location all rolled
into one. It exceeds the highest expectations. Taking service
and flexibility to an even higher standard, several packages are available,
constructed to take advantage of regularly chartered flights between San
Jose and Parismina - every Tuesday and Saturday morning. This permits
structuring trips in three, four or seven day intervals, giving anglers
the opportunity to select the itinerary and pricing that best allows them
to fit a world-class tarpon fishing trip into their own schedule and budget.
WEST COAST - The west (Pacific) coast of Costa Rica has three distinct
fisheries: 1. Mangroves and rivers, 2. Inshore waters, including bays,
gulfs and the nearby sandy beaches and rocky shores, 3. Offshore blue water.
Acute Angling organizes trips to
Crocodile Bay Lodge to access all three of these fisheries. Prime
mangrove and river species are snook, barracuda, Pacific jack crevalle
and mangrove snappers. Inshore species include; the the highly sought
after roosterfish, blue fin trevally, barracuda, snapper, jack crevalle
and Sierra mackerel. Offshore species include enormous sailfish,
marlin (blacks, blues and striped), wahoo, yellow-fin tuna and mahi-mahi.
At Crocodile
Bay, the blue water billfish grounds are only a few miles offshore. Offshore
is really close to shore. This means a shorter boat ride and, therefore,
more fishing time. It also gives anglers the ability to split days
from offshore to inshore. What makes this an even more satisfying
fishing experience is the quality of boats, equipmant and staff.
Crocodile Bay's captains and mates are well versed in conventional and
fly fishing blue water with regard to boat preparation, tactics, the number
and type of teasers, teaser colors to use, and how to position them.
Costa Rica's Pacific coast offers an enormous range of fishing opportunities
and Crocodile Bay makes them available to every angler, from novice to
expert, in a comfortable and productive fashion. |
