Other Peacock Fisheries
Several secondary fisheries exist for giant peacock bass, outside of the three core regions. Many are close to Manaus, the largest, most developed Amazon city. Most are outside of protected waters and may be subject to pressure from commercial net fisherman as well as subsistence fishing. Here are a few of the better known areas.

| 4 - Rio Negro Trunk- Holds some of the biggest peacocks in the world, however may experience fairly heavy fishing pressure when water levels are extremely low (optimal conditions). |

1 - Rio Uatuma - A populated area below the Balbina dam, this area holds big peacocks but at times may be heavily fished. |

| 5. Manaus Area - Heavily fished and with significant boat traffic. Not productive. |

2 - Parintins Region - High population area with commercial activities. |

3 - Abobra / Sucunduru / Canuma rivers. Good populations of peacocks but may experience heavy fishing pressure at times. |
