Rio Parismina Lodge - Prices and Schedules
Seasons Parismina Lodge is open year round with excellent tarpon fishing throughout.  Both weather and some of the other regional species are variable and may be most productive at specific times during the season.
Packages
Packages are constructed around regularly chartered flights between San Jose and Parismina - every Tuesday and Saturday morning.  That breaks the week into three, four and seven day intervals.
Travel
San Jose, Costa Rica is a readily accessible destination from anywhere in the United States.  Most major airports offer direct flights.  Normally, guests will arrive on an international flight to San Jose the day before they are to arrive at the lodge.  Once a group of fishermen have cleared baggage claim and customs, the lodge's representative in San Jose, Roberto Soto will provide ground transportation from the airport to the Cariari hotel and help with check-in.
The following morning around 5:15am, Roberto will return to the hotel to provide guests with transportation to the air charter section of the airport.  After a 30-minute flight to Parismina, guest will receive a quick breakfast and orientation and should be on the water fishing before 7:30am.   The morning after the last day of fishing guests board the chartered aircraft and return to San Jose where Roberto will be waiting to provide transportation and assist with hotel check-in.  The day following that, Roberto is available to provide transportation to the international airport.
Included
Guests are served three great meals daily in a family style setting.  The kitchen staff is renowned for the deserts offered.  Anglers can expect eight hours of fishing each day.   Whether they prefer to fish the backwater rivers and lagoons, fish the ocean or participate in non-angling activities, the choice is always theirs.  The lodge has a pool and Jacuzzi for when the muscles need a bit of pampering and siestas after lunch to avoid the mid-day sun.  Another welcome feature is the always open, self-service bar stocked with water,
sodas, lemonade, beer and cocktails at no extra cost to guests.
Facilities
Each room has it's own shower, bath area, twin beds and ceiling fans.   Laundry service is performed daily to reduce the amount of clothing you need to bring.  The lodge does have satellite TV that can be placed in the lounge area.  There is a well stocked tackle shop and the use of the lodge's bait casting, spinning or fly casting gear is included in the package.
Boats
Solid and stable 21-foot center console boats are provided for the saltwater fishing and 16-foot Jon boats for the rivers and lagoons.  Two anglers and one guide per boat - or an angler may book as a single person, enjoying a room, boat and guide to himself .
Not Included
A fishing license is one of the few things not included in the price of a trip package.  The license is purchased from the ranger station at the Tortuguero National Park entrance.  The cost of the license is $30.00 and will be placed on a tackle bill payable at the end of your stay. Other items to be put on your tackle bill will be a $5.00 per day gratuity for the ladies that work in the kitchen, laundry and housekeeping services.  Any fishing lures and terminal tackle that are used will also be place on the tackle bill.  We recommend tipping $25 per boat / per day for the guides if you are happy with their performance.
Considerations
Rio Parismina Lodge is in a fairly remote location.  Nestled in the rain forests around Tortuguero National Park, there are no roads that easily access the area.  Bring any required medications and personal toiletry items because there are no stores to meet those needs.
