About Steve Townson - a.k.a. "The Fish Finder"

Most hard-core peacock bass fishermen know, or know of, Steve Townson.  If you're new to the sport, Steve is on a quest to bring quality peacock bass fishing shows to the small screen.  He's started a new investment company to bring his dream to life and his escapades to a TV set near you.  You can enjoy a sampling of Steve's fishing adventures on the excellent videos linked above.
Steve  was born in England and later moved to Portugal in 1970 with his parents. He is fluent in Portuguese and has owned and run a successful landscaping business in Portugal since 1982.  He is married and has two daughters.  Steve, aka The Fish Finder, has been a passionate fisherman and wildlife enthusiast for as many years as he can remember and has travelled around the globe in search of some pretty crazy, wild fishing.  From Australia to Africa, South America and Europe, he's been searching out exciting and exotic fishing to bring to the screen. Since 1995, he has mainly specialized in fishing the wild, untamed and often un-charted waters of the Amazon jungle in Portuguese-speaking Brazil.
Together with Paul Reiss of Acute Angling, Steve has travelled throughout the Amazon Basin to some of the most remote and beautiful fishing locations in the world. In 2006 he won the First World Championship Amazon Peacock Bass Trophy by literally thousands of points.  Last year he won it all over again.
Steve is now concentrating on his exciting new venture - The Fish Finder.  He is a natural showman, having acted in various plays and comedies over the years and currently plays the drums in a 70s/80s style rock band. With his Oz-style outlook on screen and off, he intends to become the fisherman's Steve Irwin.  Because of our confidence in Steve and because we believe in the future of his dream, we at Acute Angling are pleased to share these video samples with you.
