In July, water levels in the territory of the mighty giant peacock bass (Cichla temensis) remain far too high for successful fishing. With huge rises in water level, Amazon gamefish have moved into the flooded forests. Fishing for Amazon peacock bass and other exotic species like payara, wolfish and pirapitinga is all but impossible.
This a great time, however, to get started on planning a trip to the Amazon. Acute Angling’s trips book up well in advance, so we schedule as far as two years out. Take advantage of our off-season to prepare for our incredible dry season fishing. Experience the fishing trip of a lifetime with the world's leading authority on the fierce fishes of South America.
